What are unbundled legal services? When an attorney provides some legal assistance without providing complete legal representation, then that is called the provision of unbundled legal services.
Often Alaska Legal Services Corporation provides unbundled legal services to clients who are otherwise handling their cases for themselves or pro se. These unbundled legal services may include, but not be limited to:
- assistance in completing legal forms
- legal advice on decisions needed when completing legal forms or during a lawsuit
- advice about legal rights
- guidance for filing or serving documents
- reviewing legal documents
- legal research
- assistance with legal investigation or discovery during lawsuits
- assistance with negotiations
- preparation for court appearances
- referral to other legal counsel and experts
