Security and Your Social Security Card
If you have been in an abusive relationship and are concerned that your abuser might try to use your social security number to locate you, changing your social security number might be an appropriate step to take. You should consult with the advocate at your domestic violence shelter or with an attorney before making this decision, but this document provides information that may help you.
