   The Family Assistance Program
Family Assistance is Alabama's welfare program for helping very low income families with children. Before the end of 1996, it replaced the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (ADC or AFDC) program. This document answers questions about applying for family assistance, eligibility, limits, exceptions, work activities and more.

   Family Assistance Program Eligibility Requirements (Separate Website)
Persons who apply for or receive cash benefits must meet certain requirements. They must help determine eligibility for benefits. They must participate in activities that will help them become able to support their families. This includes cooperating with child support, job search and JOBS. Persons who do not cooperate may be denied or may lose benefits. This website talks about all the requirements.
