Helpline Available for Alabama Senior Citizens

Legal Services Alabama (LSA) and the Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS) maintain a statewide Alabama Elder Helpline for people age 60 and over.

 

The Elder Helpline is charged with assisting, counseling and representing underserved seniors on a variety of legal issues from estate planning to long-term care, with a primary emphasis on promoting the highest quality of life for the individuals served. There are no income/asset requirements for legal services provided through the Helpline.

 

The number is 1-866-456-3959.

 

Hours of operation are:

 

Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m and 1:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m.

 

Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
