If you are a Virginia resident, click here for a link to help in Virginia.
LawHelp.Org/DC is a project of the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program in collaboration with the D.C. Consortium of Legal Services Providers. We receive funding from the Legal Services Corporation (through the Neighborhood Legal Services Program) and the D.C. Bar Foundation. LawHelp.org/DC provides legal and self-help information on certain topics, all of which are governed by D.C. or federal laws.
We want to create a library of information that will help you understand your rights.
We are not an attorney advertisement or solicitation, or E-mail advice service.
This is a free public service. We are not trying to make money. Many legal aid programs and other community groups have developed and help maintain the different sections of the website.
The information is designed to help meet the civil legal needs of D.C. residents and is targeted to low and moderate-income individuals and families.
We also provide referral information for service providers.
LawHelp.Org/DC also provides legal and non-legal service providers' referral information so we can more efficiently and effectively send people with problems to the appropriate agencies.
