Who We Are

DV LEAP provides a stronger voice for justice by fighting to overturn unjust trial court outcomes, advancing legal protections for victims and their children through expert appellate advocacy, training lawyers, psychologists and judges on best practices, training lawyers, psychologists and judges on best practices, and spearheading domestic violence litigation in the Supreme Court.

We serve all states.
Wheelchair Accessible Y
Access for the deaf: We provide some limited access for the deaf.
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  Experiencing domestic violence
  This program does not serve prisoners
 
Fees for Service: Individuals who are professionally employed or able to pay a lawyer are asked to pay a low hourly fee for time spent on reviewing and placing the case. Once the case is placed with a law firm, representation is entirely pro bono.
 
 
Services We Offer
This group provides the following types of services based on your legal needs and its resources:
 
  Full Legal Representation- We provide legal representation in appeals only. We do not represent individuals in trial-level litigation, although we do consult on such cases periodically.
  Other- We also provide technical assistance, consultations and referrals to individuals or lawyers involved in domestic violence cases we are not handling. Additionally, we do selected policy and law reform work in particular areas, such as custody and abuse. Finally, we do trainings for lawyers, advocates, other professionals and judicial personnel.
