| Who We Are |
HICP helps people resolve problems with private health insurance companies, high medical debts, and public health programs like Medicare and Medicaid. HICP is funded by the George Washington Law School, the D.C. Office on Aging, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We serve Medicare beneficiaries of all incomes, and charge no fees of any kind for our services. We provide full legal representation in selected cases, brief advice, self-help materials, and community education programs.

| If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted. |

| What is an emergency? If you have Medicare and cannot get needed medicine, call our hotline and leave a detailed message about your problem. We will call to help you the next business day. |
