Anchor Mental Health Association, Catholic Charities Anchor Mental Health provides comprehensive support for adults and children with mental illness or behavioral disorders. Programs focus on diagnosis and management, and then move adults to secure employment, education and independence.
Center City Community Corporation This program assists residents through counseling and with referrals in housing, basic adult education, employment and service to senior citizens. A youth program is also included. Clothing (limited supply) and food banks are sometimes available.
Central Union Mission Central Union Mission offers spiritual recovery during a 16-24 week program that includes alcoholic rehabilitation and temporary shelter for men. Meals are served twice a day. Chapel services are also provided.

Employment Services Center, D.C. Department of Employment Services The Center offers a variety of programs, including day laborer positions, nursing assistant training, testing to measure vocational aptitude, and training and employment programs. It also administers a Summer Youth Program.

Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Washington Field Office The Commission investigates complaints of discrimination in the workplace regarding sex, age, race, religion, and place of national origin. It will investigate allegations of unequal pay, sexual harassment, discrimination in hiring, firing, promotion, and conditions of employment under Title VII.
Ethiopian Community Center, Inc. The Center provides referrals and information about social services, health care, lawyers, immigration, and family counseling. Case workers are available to provide direct counseling for interpersonal, immigration, and employment problems. Job placement assistance is also available.

So Others May Eat SOME (So Others Might Eat), an interfaith, community-based organization helps meet the immediate daily needs of the people with food, clothing, and health care. They also offer services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness.

Strive D.C., Inc. Serves unemployed men, women, and youth in District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. It was established to assist hard to serve individuals obtain the skills needed to get and keep a job. The services offered are Job Training Readiness, STRIVE For Success (SFS) fast-track GED program, and Career Gear, provides professional clothing to men seeking work.
