Advice & Referral Clinic - August 9

Do you need advice about a civil legal matter governed by D.C. law?  The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program's Advice & Referral Clinic will give you the chance to meet in private with an attorney to discuss your legal problem.  Although the attorney will not be assigned to represent you, you may receive important information about your legal situation.

The Advice & Referral Clinic is FREE, and there are no income limits on who can come for advice.  If you are eligible, you may be referred to one of the legal or social service agencies in the District to provide you with additional help.  However, there is no guarantee that you will obtain representation through one of the referred agencies.

Here are some examples of problems with which the Advice & Referral Clinic may be able to help:

  • Bankruptcy/Debt Collection
  • Civil Rights
  • Consumer Law
  • Employment Law
  • Family Law
  • Health Law
  • Housing Law (Landlord/Tenant)
  • Immigration/Asylum
  • Personal & Property Damage
  • Probate (Wills, etc.)
  • Public Benefits (Welfare, SSI, etc.)
  • Tax Law

Please bring all of the documents concerning your legal problem to the Clinic.
