El Seguro Social quiere asegurarse que cada decisión hecha sobre su reclamación de Seguro Social y Seguridad de Ingreso Suplementario (SSI, sus siglas en inglés) sea correcta. Por eso, consideramos cuidadosamente toda la información en su caso antes de tomar una decisión que afecte su derecho o la cantidad de sus beneficios.
Una vez tomemos una decisión sobre su reclamación, le enviaremos una carta explicándole nuestra decisión. Si usted no está de acuerdo con nuestra decisión, puede apelarla—eso significa, pedirnos que revisemos su caso nuevamente.
Cuando usted pide una apelación, revisamos la decisión completa, incluso esas partes que estaban a su favor. Si nuestra decisión no estuvo correcta, la cambiaremos.
