Anyone with a legal problem in Louisiana is welcome to call the Louisiana Civil Justice Center (LCJC), the help line for legal information. The LCJC does not assist with criminal matters and some services require screening for financial eligibility. The phone number is (504) 355-0970 or (800) 310-7029, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

KIDLINE is a statewide hotline in Louisiana by Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana (www.pcal.org). Call 1-800-CHILDREN (1-800- 244-5373). Trained volunteer counselors answer questions 12 hours a day, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. In a confidential setting, counselors provide crisis intervention, support,
parent education, local referrals for community services, and help for victims of abuse.
