Katrina and Rita evacuees who are children, elderly, pregnant, disabled, blind, or are low-income parents with children, and from Alabama and Mississippi, may still be eligible for the Disaster Relief Medicaid program in Louisiana. The last day to apply for Disaster Relief Medicaid in the state of Louisiana is January 31, 2006.

Learn more about an announcement from The Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA) about some Road Home applicants who tried to pursue appeals. According to the announcement, the Louisiana Recovery Authority and the Office of Community Development will review cases of people who claim their Road Home appeals were lost in the process. The Road Home applicants must ask for this review. Contact information is on the LRA's web site.
