CALSC is a non-profit private corporation providing civil legal services to the indigent in a 12 parish area. Its underlying premise is that everyone, regardless of income or status, is entitled to access to the courts. The types of cases it most commonly handles are family, consumer, public benefits, bankruptcy and housing.

How to Get Help
Choose ONE of the following ways to get help:
 
   Contact this group by calling for an appointment. Call 225-387-5173, on Mondays & Wednesdays, between 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
 
Location: 200 Third Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70801
Cross Streets: Corner of Third and Convention Streets
Directions: The office is in downtown Baton Rouge. Driving south on I-110 take the North St. Exit, turn left on 4th St., then right on Convention St., then right on 3rd St. Driving north on I-110, take Convention St. Exit, then turn right on 3rd Street.
Bring proof of identity such as state ID card or driver's license.

Area(s) Served:  Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Lafourche, Pointe Coupee, Saint James, St John the Baptist, Terrebonne, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana
 
Branch offices are located in Gonzales, Houma and Donaldsonville.

Income Guidelines: 
  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.

Waivers are granted on a case by case basis, with approval of the Executive Director.
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  This program does not serve prisoners
  This program does not serve Undocumented immigrants are not served.
 
There are no fees for service.

Emergency Instructions
If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
What is an emergency?  An emergency exists if you have been served with a citation.
