ALSC is a private, non-profit law firm which provides free legal assistance in civil cases to low-income residents of most of southwest and central Louisiana. ALSC assists elderly residents regardless of income.

  Bring documents relating to legal problem and in some cases, proof of identity and income.

Income Guidelines: 
  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.

Exceptions may be granted by the Executive Director, if client is very slightly over the limit.
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  This program does not serve prisoners
 
There are no fees for service.

Emergency Instructions
If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
What is an emergency?  An emergency exists if you have been served with court papers or have a deadline or court date, or been evicted.
 
Emergency contact information:  In the event of emergency, call or walk in to the nearest office, and explain your emergency.
