Metropolitan Battered Women's Program, Inc.
MBWP provides a 24-hour crisis line, shelter and counseling for battered women and their children. Non-residential services are also provided. There is no income requirement and all services are free of charge. For legal assistance, clients must be pre-screened by a program counselor. Legal services include referrals, assistance with filing for temporary restraining orders (petitions for domestic relief), representation for protective order hearings, and filing and representation in petitions for divorce. |
