   Work Incentives for People With Disabilities (Separate Website)
Work incentives are rules intended to help disabled or blind SSI beneficiaries go to work by minimizing the risk of losing their SSI or Medicaid benefits. For example, states can extend Medicaid coverage to certain disabled people who work. Under Section 4733 of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, States have the option to provide Medicaid to working people with disabilities whose earnings are too high for them to qualify for Medicaid under existing rules.
