Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is a statewide, nonprofit law that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity. The legal staff of Legal Aid of NC - Winston-Salem Office provides legal assistance in civil matters to eligible, low-income clients who have problems with their basic needs and live in the nine-county area surrounding Winston-Salem, NC:

Alleghany
Davie County
Forsyth County
Iredell County
Stokes County
Surry County
Wilkes County
Yancey County

The Landlord-Tenant Clinic is held every Wednesday at 3:30 PM. In addition, a Medicaid Clinic is usually held every second and third Monday of the month at 2:30 PM. |

Interpreters can be provided for: If a client has a need for an interpreter, we contact the respective agency which provides the interpreter. Then, the client, the interpreter, and the representing attorney all meet in our agency office location.

Access for the deaf: We contact the Forsyth Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and make arrangements for an interpreter.
