Brooklyn Housing and Family Services
 
WHO WE ARE
Brooklyn Housing & Family Services provides Fair Housing Services to the residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island as well as to building owners. We assist in prevention of eviction, in accessing entitlements and assistance. We provide training on lead poisoning prevention. Workshops provided for organizations on housing, senior citizen, credit, foreclosure and lead poisoning prevention. Foreclosure prevention services are provided to anyone who lives or works in New York.

Cross Streets: Corner of East 5th Street in the basement
Directions: F train to Church Avenue stop. B35 bus to corner of Church Avenue and East 5th Street.
This group does not provide legal representation in court.

Languages for which interpreters can be provided: Interpreters will be provided whenever necessary in the above languages in our office or over the telephone.

  Services provided mainly to low and moderate income individuals and families.

This group provides the following types of services based on your legal needs and its resources:
 
  Brief Advice
  Other- Referrals, eviction prevention assistance, accessing entitlements, mortgage foreclosure assistance and assistance with denial of housing services.

Emergency Instructions
If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
What is an Emergency?  Eviction, no heat or hot water.
