WHO WE ARE

Bedford-Stuyvesant Community Legal Services is a free civil legal services organization that provides representation to the residents of Central Brooklyn in the areas of Social Security Disability benefits, SSI benefits, housing, immigration, foreclosure prevention, consumer protection, low income taxpayer assistance and family law.

  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.

This program can accept individuals with incomes up to 187.5% of the poverty level if the person is HIV positive or has special circumstances such as high medical bills, child care expenses, or other debts.
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  You must be a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant.
  This program does not serve prisoners

Emergency Instructions
If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
What is an Emergency?  A 72-Hour Eviction Notice from a City Marshall or a utility shut-off.
 
Emergency Contact Information:  Come into the office at 1360 Fulton Street, 3rd floor, Brooklyn, from 10:00am to 3:15pm any weekday. Bring all the papers that are related to your problem.
