| WHO WE ARE |
We are a law firm for low income residents of Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer and Schenectady Counties, New York. We provide civil legal assistance, including advice, brief service, referral, community legal education and full representation in a number of different types of legal matters. We offer several special projects, including the Disability Advocacy Project, Nutrition Outreach & Education Project, several Homelessness Intervention Projects, Domestic Violence Legal Assistance Project, Senior Legal Services Program, Children's Law Project, Foreclosure Prevention Project, and the HIV/AIDS Law Consortium. Intake is done daily on a first-call, first-served basis until daily quota is filled. Exceptions made for emergencies, victims of domestic violence and special projects.

Some special projects have income caps at 150% or 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Persons with incomes up to 200% of the poverty guidelines can be eligible for services depending upon their fixed debts and obligations, employment-related or medical expenses and other factors.

| If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted. |

| What is an Emergency? Immediate lack of shelter, food or clothing; court or other legal deadline within one week; child taken by unauthorized person, including CPS, domestic violence victim with safety issues. |
