WHO WE ARE

The Securities Arbitration Clinic at St. John's University School of Law provides assistance to investors who are unable to obtain legal representation. Law students, under the supervision of faculty members, represent customers in handling their disputes against broker-dealers and/or their employees. Please note that the Securities Arbitration Clinic at St. John's University School of Law only assists with problems involving securities such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ect. It does not assist with general consumer fraud matters.

  It is suggested that the prospective client call first so we can make sure student interns are available to handle the intake.
This group does not provide legal representation in court.

Languages for which interpreters can be provided: If needed, we would make arrangements for an interpreter

Income Guidelines: 

  Income eligibility is at the direction of the clinic. We look for individuals with limited assets (i.e. only major assets are car and home) and we try to give preference to seniors.
 
 
TYPE OF HELP
This group provides the following types of services based on your legal needs and its resources:
 
  Full Legal Representation- In securities arbitration claims against stockbrokers and their employers (cases involving $100,000 or less). We usually handle arbitration cases filed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ("FINRA").
