WHO WE ARE

Gay Men's Health Crisis' Legal Services Department provides a continuum of practical and concrete HIV specific legal services that are critical to obtaining and maintaining access to food, housing, medical care and employment.

Choose ONE of the following ways to get help:
 
   To contact this group, CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT. To make an appointment for Immigration Services ONLY, please contact Yanira Gomez-Lopez at (212) 367-1328.
 
Cross Streets: between 9th and 10th Avenues
Directions: By train (to 34th St.): 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, B, D, F, M, N, Q, R By bus: M34 (34th St. crosstown) and M11 (south on 9th Ave., north on 10th Ave.)

  Appropriate medical documentation includes an M11Q, an ADAP card, or a doctor's note indicating diagnosis.
  For assistance with an IMMIGRATION ISSUE, please call Yanira Gomez-Lopez at (212) 367-1328 for an appointment.

For all other legal matters, please come to the "walk in" clinic on Tuesday.

All clients must register with GMHC before they can receive legal services.

You may register by bringing the appropriate medical documentation to the 5th floor intake desk.

Languages Spoken:  French, Hindi, Urdu, Russian, German, Spanish
Languages for which interpreters can be provided: We have staff that can translate French, German, Russian, and Yoruba. Other translation services are available with the assistance of our colleagues in other CBOs.
Wheelchair Accessible: Y
Access for the deaf: TTY 212-645-7470
Income Guidelines: 

  AIDS person, individuals seeking legal services must first register with the Palm Center (for intake hours, call 212 367 1500).
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  HIV positive
  This program does not serve prisoners
