South Brooklyn Legal Services - HIV Project
 
WHO WE ARE

South Brooklyn Legal Services provides free legal help in civil cases to low-income people living in western and southern Brooklyn. The HIV Project provides free legal help in civil cases to HIV-infected individuals and their families. In addition, the HIV Project trains community-based organizations on legal issues affecting HIV-related persons.

Servicios Legales del Sur de Brooklyn provee ayuda legal gratuita en casos civiles para personas de bajos ingresos que viven en el oeste y el sur de Brooklyn. El Proyecto VIH proporciona ayuda legal gratuita en casos civiles para personas infectadas con el VIH y sus familias. Income Guidelines: 
  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.

This program can accept individuals with incomes up to 187.5% of the poverty level if the person has special circumstances such as high medical bills, child care expenses, or other debts.
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  HIV positive
  or related to an HIV positive individual
  You must be a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant.
  This program does not serve prisoners
