| WHO WE ARE |
Manhattan Legal Services provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income residents of Manhattan who are not able to afford the cost of a private attorney. The HIV/AIDS Unit provides legal representation, advice and referrals to people living with HIV and AIDS on a variety of civil matters. All services are confidential. HIV/AIDS staff is available to present workshops on legal issues of concern to people living with HIV/AIDS, their caretakers and service providers.

This group may handle an adult guardianship under certain circumstances, usually when an Article 81 guardianship is needed for proper representation of the person's interests in an eviction case in Housing Court.
Appointments are usually given within 2 to 3 days. |
