Our mission is to provide quality pro bono civil legal services to low income people and small not for profit groups and to coordinate, train and support pro bono attorneys in the delivery of those services.

HOW TO GET HELP

Location: Main-Seneca Building 237 Main St., Suite 1000 Buffalo, NY 14203 Rapid transit Seneca St. stop is right in front of the building. We are located in downtown Buffalo, directly across Washington St. from the baseball stadium.
Cross Streets: Seneca St
Directions: Rapid transit Seneca St. stop is right in front of the building. We are located in downtown Buffalo, directly across Washington St. from the baseball stadium. Although car and truck traffic is not allowed on Main St. in the downtown area, the building is easily accessible by vehicles from the streets on the other 3 sides of the block. Those streets are Seneca St. (along the south side of the building), Washington St. (along the east side of the building) and Swan St. (1/2 block north of the building).
Please bring the following documents at intake. Photo identification, proof of all sources of income for all household members, any documents related to their case.

WHO WE SERVE

Area(s) Served:  Erie
 
Most services are limited to Erie County. Immigration services available for all of Western NY. Income Tax services and services for families affected by HIV/AIDS available for Erie, Niagara, Wyoming, Geneseee and Orleans Counties.
Languages Spoken:  French, Spanish
Wheelchair Accessible: Y
Access for the deaf: We will make reasonable accommodations. One way to start the process is to email to cbiggie@wnylc.com.
Income Guidelines: 
  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.
(Get more information about income guidelines.)
  Asset test also applied.
 
If income is above 125%, but below 200% of poverty level, certain debts can be used to "spend down" the income.
 
 
TYPE OF HELP
This group provides the following types of services based on your legal needs and its resources:
 
  Full Legal Representation- In Article 81 guardianships, we do not represent petitioners or family members. We generally only serve as the Court Evaluator.
