| HOW TO GET HELP |
| |
To contact this group, CALL (212) 243-1313 |
| |
|
| |
Have all the documents related to the legal problem on hand when you call.
|
| |
The Legal Action Center helps individuals prevent and overcome job, housing, and other discrimination due to a criminal record or substance abuse history and/or HIV/AIDS. The Center provides help on HIV testing and privacy issues and also helps individuals with criminal records get and clean up their rap sheets and get certificates of rehabilitation. For help, call and ask to speak with a paralegal. If you are calling about a criminal record, you may be told to call back on a specific date because we get far more calls than we can handle.
|
| |
If you have HIV or an alcohol or drug problem, tell the receptionist; you may get help more quickly, as we have special funding to deal with those calls.
