| WHO WE ARE |
The Amsterdam office of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern NY provides civil legal services to low income residents of Fulton, Montgomery and Schoharie Counties. We provide advice, brief service, referrals, community legal education and full representation in a variety of civil legal problems. Please call the office for more information on services provided through our special projects: Disability Advocacy Project, Domestic Violence Legal Assistance Project, Senior Legal Services Projects, HIV/AIDS Law Consortium, Upstate New York Immigration Law Project, Foreclosure Prevention Project and the Homelessness Prevention Project.

Other- Advice, brief service, referral or legal education will be provided to all callers, including referrals to our volunteer lawyer program if appropriate and feasible.
Full representation is available if a case falls within one of our special projects. Regrettably, due to limited resources, LASNNY is not able to provide full representation to all who apply.

| If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted. |

| What is an Emergency? Immediate lack of food, shelter or clothing; a court or other legal deadline within one week; taking of child by unauthorized person, including CPS, or domestic violence victim with safety issue. |
