Southern Tier Legal Services- Jamestown office (A Division of Legal Assistance of Western New York - LawNY®)
 
WHO WE ARE

 Southern Tier Legal Services is a not-for profit organization that provides free civil legal services to low-income residents of Steuban, Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua Counties. STLS provides legal advice and representation to low-income clients on the areas of public benefits, housing, family (for victims of domestic violence), health, education and consumer law. STLS has three offices: the Bath office serves Steuben and Allegany County residents; the Olean office (888-767-1950) serves Cattaraugus County, and the Jamestown office (866-664-4567) serves Chautauqua County.

  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.

Exceptions can be made in certain circumstances up to 200% of Federal Poverty Level.

Emergency Instructions
If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
What is an Emergency?  If the person has been "locked out" of their home, is homeless, has been served with court papers in an eviction or foreclosure proceeding, has no money, no food or essential medicine, has been threatened with utility shut off or had utilities terminated.
