Access for the deaf: Relay services - 800-421-1220 (voice) and 800-662-1220 (TTY)
Income Guidelines: 
  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.
(Get more information about income guidelines.)
 
This program can accept individuals with incomes up to 187.5% of the poverty level if the person has specialcircumstances such as high medical bills, child care expenses, or otherdebts.
 
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
  You must be a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant.
  This program does not serve prisoners

Emergency Instructions
If your problem is an emergency as described below, follow the contact instructions for emergency cases. Most offices are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
 
What is an Emergency?  If the client has just been served with a Marshal's notice, or has just been evicted.
 
Emergency Contact Information:  Come to the office in person, or call (718) 237-5500 and speak with the Intake Officer, Frances Laguer.
