The Legal Aid Society's Brooklyn Office for the Aging provides free civil legal service to Brooklyn resident aged 60 and over on a wide range of matters with an emphasis on eviction prevention, maximization of government benefits and urgent consumer law issues.

Have all the papers about your legal problem and information about your income on hand when you call.
Intake for new cases is by telephone (NOT by Walk-In), generally on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month beginning at 10 am and continuing until all available slots are filled.

Access for the deaf: Clients can contact the office either through their own relay services or with the assistance of a referral source. Can also arrange for American Sign Language interpreters.
Income Guidelines:
Services are provided to individuals aged 60 and over in Brooklyn without regard to income. The office does consider income and resource issues in making priority decisions.
Other Requirements: For help, you must be:
