| WHO WE ARE |
Lawyers for Children (LFC) is a not-for-profit legal corporation dedicated to providing individual advocacy for children in foster care in New York City, and to promoting reform of New York's foster care system. LFC offers legal representation and social work services to children in foster care, abuse, neglect, termination of parental rights, custody and adoption proceedings. This past year, we represented children and young adults in over 6,000 proceedings in New York City Family Court.

Lawyers for Children (LFC) is assigned by New York City Family Court Judges to represent children in foster care review, abuse and neglect, termination of parental rights, custody, visitation, guardianship, adoption, family offense and paternity cases.
LFC will also accept referrals directly from young people under the age of 21 who are in the foster care system or who have questions about custody. |

Lawyers for Children also takes calls directly from young people under the age of 21 who are in the foster care system or who have questions about custody. Calls are taken from Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
