The Employment Law Unit of The Legal Aid Society provides legal advice and representation for low-income New Yorkers seeking unemployment insurance. In addition, the Employment Law Unit provides advice and potentially representation for individuals whose employers have failed to pay minimum wage or overtime or have illegally discriminated against them, including discrimination based on family responsibilities and criminal records.
