Legal Aid Society: Employment Law Unit
 
WHO WE ARE

The Employment Law Unit of The Legal Aid Society provides legal advice and representation for low-income New Yorkers seeking unemployment insurance. In addition, the Employment Law Unit provides advice and potentially representation for individuals whose employers have failed to pay minimum wage or overtime or have illegally discriminated against them, including discrimination based on family responsibilities and criminal records.

  Your family's income should be at or below 125.0% of the poverty level.

Clients with incomes at or below 200% of the poverty level may be represented if they fall within certain exceptions.
