Community Service Society - Eviction Prevention Program

This organization provides information, referrals and advocacy for tenants and homeowners threatened with homelessness. They help apply for a "one-shot deal" or ongoing public assistance to pay rent arrears and advise all applicants on eligibility for "Jiggetts" relief. Clients receive referrals to appropriate legal services, budget and credit counseling, or protective services for adults. Their staff follows up until the eviction or foreclosure has stopped and rent or mortgage arrears are paid.
