Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County, Inc.
The Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County, Inc. (VLSP), is a
program that provides free legal help to low-income residents of Monroe
County, New York facing non-criminal legal problems. VLSP's services are
provided by private attorneys who donate their time and talent to ensure
that low-income people have access to the justice system when faced with
serious legal problems.
VLSP can help with a wide variety of non-criminal legal problems such as
matrimonials, Social Security/SSI, Family Court practice,
landlord-tenant conversions, unemployment insurance, bankruptcy,
consumer and wills, among others. Some pro bono attorneys accept cases
in which they provide full representation; others participate in VLSP
clinics: Family Court Assistance, Debt Collection Advice, Pro-se
Divorce, Wills Clinic or the Lawyer of the Morning Program in
conjunction with The Legal Aid Society.
