Syracuse University College of Law - Low Income Taxpayer Clinic

The SULITC offers legal assistance to lower-income taxpayers who have "controversies" with the Internal Revenue Service (or New York State Department of Taxation and Finance). The controversy may involve collection, examination and appeals matters. Student Attorneys (under the supervision of a Tax Professor) represent clients in administrative proceedings before the I.R.S., and in judicial proceedings before the United States Tax Court or Federal District and Circuit Courts.
