The Hofstra University School of Law - Community Legal Assistance Corp.
is an educational program that offers legal assistance in the areas of
child advocacy, political asylum, criminal justice, and housing rights.
The Child Advocacy Clinic assists with child neglect, abuse, foster care
and termination of parents' rights, juvenile delinquency and PINS.
In the Political Asylum Clinic, students represent political asylum
applicants in immigration proceedings before asylum officers,
immigration judges, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
The Housing Rights Clinic assists with cases that concern eviction,
housing discrimination and tenant/group representation.
The Criminal Justice Clinic represents indigent individuals charged with
misdemeanors and violations in the District Court of Nassau County and
in New York City Criminal Court, Queens County.
We also have a Community & Economic Development Clinic and Securities
Arbitration Clinic.
