Proyecto Indigena
by:
The Indigenous Project provides outreach to indigenous community members who speak indigenous languages, such as Mixteco, Zapoteco, Triqui, Kanjobal, and languages from other communities in Mexico and Guatemala. Our goal is to educate and advise people about their legal rights as farmworkers. Our office is located at 230 West Hayes Street, Woodburn, Oregon 97071, where you can find employees who speak Spanish, English, and three employees who also speak Mixteco Alto and Bajo. Our telephone number is (503) 726-4381 or 1-800-973-9003.
The Project Against Workplace Sexual Assault, part of the Indigenous Project, supports, educates, informs and helps farmworkers regarding sexual assault at their place of work. The Project Against Workplace Sexual Assault provides legal services to people who have experienced sexual assault in nurseries, canneries and in the fields. In addition, the Project gives talks to farmworkers and to service provides and medical providers regarding sexual assault in the workplace. The Project Against Workplace Sexual Assault has a special focus on indigenous workers who come from Mexico and Central America and speak indigenous languages apart from Spanish.
