More Pennsylvanians Can Get Help Buying Food!

Pennsylvania's Food Stamp Program (now called SNAP) just got better - especially for seniors and working families!

  • People with higher incomes may qualify.  The income limits have gone up.  Check the chart below to see if you may qualify.  You are especially likely to qualify if you pay a lot for housing, child support, or child care.

  • Many people will get at least the minimum benefit of $16 a month.  If your income is below the amount in the chart below, and there are only 1 or 2 people in your household, you should get at least $16 a month in SNAP (food stamp) benefits.

  • Savings don't matter any more.  You can get SNAP (food stamp) benefits even if you have money in the bank or other property.

  • The SNAP (food stamp) program will now subtract all your child care costs from your income.

You may qualify for SNAP benefits if your income is below the amount on this chart.  How much you will get depends on your income, your household size, and your expenses (especially housing, child support, and child care costs).
