I. LEAGAL ADVICE CLINICS: attorneys interview clients, identify
issues, confer with a mentor and then give advice on a range of civil
issues.
Olympia Legal Advice Clinic: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays 6 -9 p.m.
Domestic Violence Survivors' Legal Advice Clinic: 1st Thursday and
3rd Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m.
Shelton Legal Advice Clinic: 1st Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m.
II. HOUSING JUSTICE PROJECT: attorneys provide advice, negotiation,
and in-court representation for residents facing eviction, every Friday
except Court holidays. Project starts at 8:30 a.m. to meet clients and
cases are heard at 10:30 a.m. Cases are usually complete by noon.
III. DIRECT REPRESENTATION.
A. MENTORING is perfect for attorneys who have special expertise in a
practice area, are unable to take more clients but who are willing to
take calls from other attorneys.
B. REPRESENTING low income clients is a reqarding experience. We work
with volunteer attorneys to find a mentor or other supports where that
is desired.
