Family Law and Domestic Violence
A. Overview
The Kinship Guardianship Project and the Guardianship Legal Helpline are joint projects of Pegasus Legal Services for Children and Law Access New Mexico, funded by the New Mexico Aging & Long Term Services Division.

 
B. Telephone Legal Advice
The Helpline provides telephone legal advice for concerned adults who are raising children.

 
C. Attorney Referrals
The Helpline will make referrals to the Kinship Guardianship Project for legal representation where possible for low-income eligible caregivers.

 
D. Self-Representation in Court
If a referral is not possible, the Helpline staff will consider assisting low-income potential guardians with self-representation.
