Using Search
1. You can search from any page
in the Civil Law Practice Area. Look for the Search box. Type your
search in the text box and click the Search button. You can also click
"Advanced Search" to access more Search features.
2. To use Advanced Search, enter
your search and search restrictions. Then click the Search button. The
search below will search for Library item containing the phrase "fair
housing" and the words "landlord" and "tenant" that were submitted to
the ARC in the last 3 months.
3. For more Search Tips, click
here.
4. Still having problems? Here
are a few common mistakes using Search:
-
Make sure you are searching
from a Civil Law Practice Area page.
If you search from the Public Area (www.advocateresourcecenter.org
Home page, for instance), you won't find resources in the Civil Law
Area (such as Library items).
-
ARC Search does
not work like Google.
When you type in a search such as: divorce Washington statute of
limitations, Search will look for that exact phrase as if it were
surrounded by quotes. Instead, search for: divorce and Washington
and "statute of limitations". See Search Tips above for
more hints.
-
Use Advanced
Search to speed up your searches.
The Search tool is very thorough but a little slow. You can speed up
your searches by using Advanced Search to restrict your search to the
specific tool in which you want to find results (Library, Roster,
Email Groups, Calendar, etc).
