CASA of the Virgin Islands
CASA MISSION STATEMENT
To train volunteers to advocate for children. Court Appointed Special Advocates speak up in Court to ensure that the child who has beed traumatized by abuse and neglect, often removed from their family, will have their needs identified and addressed and receive the services necessary to restore their basic human needs: housing, medical care, education and a stable, healthy childhood.
WHAT IS CASA? CASA of the Virgin Islands is under the local umbrella of Legal Services of the Virgin Islands. We are part of a network of over 52,000 volunteers in over 950 programs throughout the 50 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands affiliated with the National Court Appointed Special Advocates Association. CASA celebrated in 2002 the representation of ONE MILLION children since its inception in 1976 in Seattle, Washington. Since 1994 CASA of the VI has been providing services on St. Croix. |
