Helping Low-Income People Find Solutions to Civil Legal Problems

Washington LawHelp is a guide to free civil legal services for low-income persons and seniors in Washington.  This site provides legal education materials and tools that give you basic information on a number of legal problems, and in some cases, detailed instructions and forms to help you represent yourself in court.  You can also locate information on free legal aid programs in Washington, including basic eligibility and contact information.

This guide is a free service which is made possible through a grant from the Legal Services Corporation.  The web site template was created by Pro Bono Net and is maintained by staff at the Northwest Justice Project in Seattle.

Northwest Justice Project

The Northwest Justice Project (NJP) is a not-for-profit statewide organization that provides free civil legal services to low-income people from nine offices throughout the state of Washington. Each year, NJP assists more than 18,000 people in need of critical legal assistance.

Pro Bono Net is a unique collaboration among the various parts of the public interest legal community. They use information technology to increase the amount and quality of legal services provided to low-income individuals and communities. Pro Bono Net is not only a company name, but also a domain name (www.probono.net), which pro bono advocates can type into their internet browser in order to access extensive legal information and to share their information with other advocates working for disadvantaged communities. They can be reached at 212-760-2554.
