It can be hard to park in downtown Minneapolis.
It may be easier to use busses or the light rail. Both go near our offices. If you want to take the bus or light rail call
Metro Transit at 612-373-3333 or visit then online at http://www.metrotransit.org/ if you do
not know the route you need.
If you want to drive, there are many parking ramps and
parking lots near our office.
Please be
careful!! There is important information
about parking that you should know.
Parking Meters
There are parking meters on 1st Avenue.
The parking spaces are marked by white lines. Meters only take quarters or
dollar coins. Read the instructions on the meter to see how much it costs and
when you can park there. You can park at the meters on 1st Avenue for 2 hours.
You CANNOT park at these meters
from 7am-9am and from 4pm-6pm Monday through Friday. Be careful, fines are very
expensive.
Bicycle Lane
There is a bicycle
lane on 1st Avenue
next to the curb. It is marked by a solid white line. DO NOT park in this lane.
You will be towed if you do. You can park in the lane outside of the bicycle
lane. It is between the bicycle lane and
the street traffic. But park
carefully. If your tires touch the white
lines of the bicycle lane you will be towed.
Twins Games
1st Avenue may be closed 1
hour before and 1 hour after Twin’s games. Call 311 or (612) 673-3000 to find
out if there is a game scheduled on the when you are coming to our office. Parking
costs more when there is a Twin’s game.
You can drive and
park outside of downtown then take the bus or light rail to our office instead
of paying extra money.
For more information about parking, call the city of Minneapolis at 311 or at
(612) 673-3000
