What Is the Texas Taxpayer Assistance Project?

The Texas Taxpayer Assistance Project (T-TAP) is part of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid. We give free legal help on federal income tax matters to low-income taxpayers who live in Central, South, and Southwest Texas.

We never charge a fee for our services. You may have to pay court costs and filing fees.

We are not a part of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). We are separate from the IRS, and all our conversations with you are confidential.

If you have a problem with the IRS, you might need legal help. It is hard to understand many of the tax laws, and some tax laws change each year.
