The Legal Hotline for Older Iowans is a special project of Iowa Legal Aid that provides legal advice and other services to Iowans who are 60 or older. If you need more legal representation than counsel and advice, the Legal Hotline can help you find an attorney in your area to provide the legal help that you need.
The Legal Hotline conducts free legal education presentations to organizations and community groups about legal issues of interest to older Iowans. Most presentations concern life planning issues such as wills, health care directives, avoiding probate, and paying for nursing home and other long-term care expenses. Other presentations are about protecting yourself from telemarketing fraud, debt collection problems and privacy issues.
