Sarah McMorris has been appointed as an Equal Justice Works Katrina Fellow to work at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services in New Orleans. Her fellowship is funded by Equal Justice Works, JEHT Foundation and the global law firm of Debevoise & Plimpton.
McMorris will focus on housing, FEMA assistance and insurance issues that Katrina victims face. Her goals include saving housing for tenants and helping homeowners with legal problems that arise with rebuilding.
Previously, McMorris was a staff attorney at Acadiana Legal Services in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She has a law degree and B.A. from Louisiana State University.
