Adult Services and Case Management Division
The mission of Adult Protective Services is to protect the health and welfare of elderly and disabled adults. Adult Protective Services are provided to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and are victims of actual or potential abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This mistreatment may be caused by others or self-inflicted. DSS is authorized, by the Omnibus Adult Protection Act of the South Carolina Code of Laws, to investigate all reports and provide services. Services are provided to meet the adults' basic needs and to ensure their safety. Content Detail

Ask-a-Lawyer

South Carolina 2-1-1
Every hour of every day, someone in South Carolina needs essential services-from finding substance abuse assistance, getting the latest information in a crisis, to securing adequate care for a child or an aging parent. Faced with a huge number of public and private agencies, help lines, and phone numbers, people often don't know where to turn or how to get through ‘the maze’. In many cases, people end up going without these necessary and readily available services because they do not know where to start. SC 2-1-1 will provide South Carolinians with information about and referrals to services throughout the State for every day needs and in times of crisis. Content Detail
