DC Office on Aging

The DC Office on Aging develops and carries out a comprehensive and coordinated system of health, education, employment, and social services for the District's elderly population, who are 60 years of age and older. Its services include a city-run nursing home as well as Senior Centers throughout the District, all of which serve lunch.

The mission of the Office on Latino Affairs is to improve the quality of life of the District's Latino population by providing community-based grants, advocacy, community relations and outreach services to residents so they can have access to a full range of health, education, housing, economic development and employment services.

So Others May Eat

SOME (So Others Might Eat), an interfaith, community-based organization helps meet the immediate daily needs of the people with food, clothing, and health care. They also offer services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness.
